Raised on Martha's Vineyard and based in New York's Hudson Valley, I make work that moves across painting and sculpture. I am drawn to charged materials that arrive already loaded with association, history, or bodily life. Rope, hornet's nest paper, snakeskin, torn tights, and clay pigments are woven into conversation with painting. Each material is an active participant in meaning-making, in dialogue with new materialist thinkers like Karen Barad, whose work recognizes the lived history of matter.

My ongoing series Entanglement is built on the structure of textile, the knot, the meshwork, which I use as both method and metaphor for a world in which nothing stands apart. Works like She Was the Weather, Love Before Language, Cable, and Sand to Sky hold together labor, motherhood, and mortality through a dialogue of interlacing materials and painted imagery.

My work has been shown at the MEAM Museum in Barcelona and is currently on view at Carrie Haddad Gallery in Hudson, NY. Residencies include the Millay Colony in Austerlitz, NY, and Red Gate in Beijing, China, with an upcoming residency at the Atlantic Center for the Arts in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.
